This time I have brought to you a very tasty and mouth-watering recipe. It’s a sweet called Kharvas or Junnu.

Today I will tell you how to make this sweet in the traditional way as done in villages. This dessert is made in steam. Let’s learn how to make it.

This sweet is made from the milk that is extracted for the first time when a cow or buffalo calf is born. This milk is the best for this recipe. Being the first milk, it is also beneficial for health.

INGREDIENTS

For Kharvas (Junnu)
  • Milk, 2 liters
  • Sugar, 250 grams (or according to taste)
  • Water, 3 glasses

INSTRUCTIONS:

For making Kharvas (Junnu)
  1. Take the first extracted milk from cow or buffalo in a big pot. We will filter the milk, add sugar to the milk and mix it well. Make sure to mix the sugar in the cold milk.

  3. Now take a pan and put dry fodder in it and set it well. Then add water to it.

  5. Now place a plate over the pan and put that milk in the plate and keep the pan on the stove slowly, then pour more milk in the plate and fill it completely.

  7. Now we will cover this milk plate from above and keep some weight on it so that its steam does not come out and our Kharvas gets cooked well in steam.

  9. After some time we will remove the lid and check with the help of a knife whether our kharvas is cooked or not. If the knife comes out clean, then it means that our sweet has cooked well.

  11. Now turn off the stove and cut the kharvas into the desired shape with the help of a knife.
