For Kala Chana Chaat
  • black chickpeas, 1 bowl
  • Sweet soda, 1 pinch
  • Mustard seeds, half teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds, half teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder, one teaspoon
  • Coriander powder, one teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder, half teaspoon
  • Garam masala, half teaspoon
  • Mango powder, one teaspoon
  • Garam masala, one teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil, 2 tablespoons
  • Onion, 1
  • Tomato, 2
  • Green chillies, 2 - 3
  • Coriander leaves for decorating


For making Kala Chana Chaat
  1. Chana should be kept in water overnight or for 7-8 hours.

  3. In the morning, we will remove it from the water and put a pinch of soda in the cooker and boil for 4-5 whistles. Then, open the cooker.

  5. Now put oil in the pan, add mustard seeds, cumin, green chillies, onions, tomatoes, and stir for 2 minutes. Now we will add all the dry spices mentioned in the ingredients.

  7. Mix well and add boiled chickpeas and stir for two to three minutes. After that, we will add green coriander leaves on top.

  9. Our chana chaat is ready. Eat and serve it to the guests too.
